Article: Pineapple Fruit Salad With Fluffy Whipped Cream

Pineapple Fruit Salad With Fluffy Whipped Cream

This pineapple fruit salad is one of my households favorite! I love how fresh and colorful this salad is! Its pairs wonderfully with a light and fluffy homemade whipped cream dressing that brings everything together beautifully.

It is simple but still feels special and works just as well for everyday breakfasts as it does for gatherings and celebrations. The mix of tropical fruit and berries keeps every bite bright and balanced.

The whipped cream dressing is one of my favorite parts of this recipe. I make it with just three ingredients and whip it until it is soft and airy. It gently covers the fruit without overpowering it and adds just the right touch of sweetness and helps cancel out some of the tartness from the pineapple.

Make It Ahead of time

One of the things I appreciate most about this salad is how easy it is to make ahead.

I often prep the fruit and whipped cream in advance and store them separately in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to one week.

When I am ready to serve I simply combine them and the salad tastes fresh and beautiful every time.

Tools You Will Need

To make the homemade whipped cream you will need a mixer. I personally use a KitchenAid mixer but a hand mixer works just as well. The mixer helps create that light fluffy texture quickly and easily.

If you do not have a mixer on hand you can absolutely keep this recipe simple by using a store bought whipped topping like Cool Whip instead. It is a convenient option and works well for this fruit salad.

Pineapple Fruit Salad With Fluffy Whipped Cream Directions

  1. I start by preparing all of the fruit. I cut the pineapple into small chunks slice the kiwi and cube the dragon fruit. I gently rinse the raspberries and blueberries and pat them dry. I add all of the fruit to a large bowl and softly toss to combine.
  2. To make the whipped cream dressing I pour the heavy cream into a mixing bowl. I add the powdered sugar or sugar free powdered sugar replacement and a couple drops of vanilla extract. Using my mixer I whip the cream until it becomes light and fluffy with soft peaks.
  3. I usually do not dress the entire fruit salad with the whipped cream right away. Keeping the fruit and whipped cream separate helps the fruit stay fresh longer which is especially helpful when I plan to enjoy this salad throughout the week.
  4. When I am ready to serve I spoon the whipped cream over individual portions or gently fold it into the amount I plan to eat. If I am serving this salad for a party or if everyone will be enjoying it right away I will fold the whipped cream into the full bowl just before serving.
