13 School Lunch Box Ideas That Make Busy Mornings So Much Easier

One sock is missing, the clock is ticking, and your little one has just announced that sandwiches are suddenly “boring.”

Sound familiar, mama? These easy school lunch box ideas are here to take one thing off your plate while putting something yummy onto theirs!

For months, my little one asked me to pack her a sandwich almost daily. Until she wanted something new and different so I had to get little bit creative. I took the charcuterie board as an inspiration for many of these lunches, but with a twist!

School Lunch Box Ideas

Packing a school lunch box day in and day out can be a little daunting, especially when you are always trying to keep those lunch boxes interesting and fun!

As a mom, you just want to make sure that your little ones have something yummy to eat everyday and that they will actually eat it too.

Sometimes I find myself going a little overboard with packing the lunch boxes and have to scale back. I always want the kids to open their school lunches and find something in it that they actually want to eat. My kids aren't necessarily picky,  but sometimes they have challenges opening some packages (mainly my kindergartener) or they are craving something and I want to make sure those needs are met.

Once a week we have a late start day and on those days I usually pack a hot lunch for the kids like mac and cheese,  grilled cheese or some kind of hot meal I can quickly whip up in the morning.

Some of these lunch pails may seem like they are overpacked, but depending on the activities of each day, I may be packing a breakfast, a lunch and an afternoon snack so theres something to eat before sports etc.

Some mornings, I’m on my A game! My hair is done, the homemade from scratch lunches were packed the night before, and we’re out the door on time.

Other mornings, it seems like I am barley scraping by to get it all together. I’m wearing mismatched socks, my hair is in a tangled bun, and my only focus is getting the kids out the door to school on time and having a lunch for them to look forward to.

As much as I love cooking and making all the yummy things from scratch, I still rely on purchased snacks, especially when I’m working more or we’re in a pinch for time.

I do my best to look for organic options with clean and simple ingredients I feel good about whenever its possible. I’m just grateful for the little conveniences that help me pull it all together.

I also wanted to mention that organic doesn’t have to mean expensive. Over the past year, I’ve actually saved more than $1,200 on organic, simple ingredient snacks! And this is how I managed to do it!

Like most families, I always try to keep our grocery budget in mind. I actually order most of our organic snacks through Thrive Market and have saved over $1,200 this year! Literally, I still cant believe it myself! Thrive has lots of sales throughout the month and I try to shop them and stock up whenever I can.

I love Thrive Market so much and I always get so excited when the box of groceries arrives at my door! It’s been so wonderfully helpful for keeping a few easy options in the pantry when I don’t have time to make as much at home.

If you want an even bigger savings, I highly recommend using my unique link to get 40% off your first Thrive grocery box HERE!

Its so worth it and also, let’s be honest, we could all use a little more wiggle room in the grocery budget!

And with that, lets dive in!
