My kids absolutely love whipped cream on their pancakes, waffles and on their fresh fruit. It's a treat we like to enjoy every now and then. I also like to make this recipe sugar free using a sugar free powdered sugar. It's a great alternative which I will link down below.
This recipe has been my go-to for my kids' birthday parties, and it's always a total hit! Serving the strawberry whipped cream alongside fresh fruit or in strawberries and cream cups is always a delight.
What I love about this recipe is that it's a stabilized whipped cream, meaning that it will keep its shape and hold for much longer.
I served these strawberry and cream cups for my daughter's 2nd strawberry birthday party. They were so yummy and a total hit. The whipped cream held its shape in the cups and tasted divine!
To cater to different preferences, we made a batch using sugar-free powdered sugar and another with regular powdered sugar. Both styles were loved and a total hit.
What makes a perfect strawberry whipped cream?
Whether for a special occasion or a refreshing treat, learning to make the best strawberry whipped cream is a must. This delightful and yummy dessert will leave you wanting so much more!
Tip: Make sure all of your ingredients are cold, such as your mixing bowl, cream cheese and heavy cream.
Stabilized Whipped Cream
This recipe is lighter than cream cheese frosting but heavier than whipped cream alone. Stabilized whipped cream maintains its structure unlike whipped cream, which melts away quickly after being applied to your treat.
When made properly, this frosting is stable and pipes wonderfully onto dressers holding its structure for much longer. It's ideal for decorating strawberries and cream and other desserts.
Why is homemade whipped cream better?
Homemade whipped cream is so yummy because its freshness and wonderful flavor. You control the ingredients, choosing the best quality cream, customizing sweetness, and adding vanilla and strawberry extracts for extra decadence.

- 1 TSP Strawberry extract
- 4 OZ Cream Cheese ( Make sure its the block full fat cream cheese )
- Fresh strawberries, diced
Step-by-step instructions
Now that you have your ingredients ready, here is the step-by-step process. You will want to make sure you follow along to ensure that your whipped cream comes out as good as can be!
1.Chill your mixing bowl and beaters
Place your mixing bowl and beaters in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes. Chilling them will help the cream whip faster and hold its shape better.
You can do this while prepping your section to make the whipped cream.
2. Whip the cream
Start with the cream cheese. Beat the cream cheese first until it's smooth.
Then slowly pour the heavy cream into the chilled mixing bowl and beat on medium speed until soft peaks form. This should take about 2-3 minutes. Be careful not to overbeat, as it can turn the cream into butter.
3. Add the powdered sugar and strawberry extract
Sprinkle the powdered sugar and strawberry extract over the whipped cream. Continue beating on low speed until well combined. The sugar will stabilize the whipped cream, while the strawberry extract will enhance the flavor.
*Sifting the powdered sugar ensures a smooth and lump-free whipped cream frosting.
4. Add the color
If you wish to make your strawberry whipped cream pink, now is the time to add a drop of pink gel food coloring to it. You can also leave it without coloring if you prefer.
5. Serve and enjoy!
Pipe the strawberry whipped cream into serving bowls or use it as a topping for your favorite fruits. It pairs perfectly with pancakes, cakes, pies, waffles, or even a simple bowl of fresh fruit.
Serving Materials
I served the strawberries and cream in these mini jars. What I love about these mini mason jars is how handy and versatile they are. They worked great for serving the strawberries and cream in.
The mini jars also held any extra strawberry whipped cream I had left over. It kept the whipped cream good for several days. Beyond that, these jars are great for serving and saving food. It's a win-win!
