Cherry Blossom Season in Oregon Sneaks Up Fast! Here’s How to Catch It in Time
One of the first signs of spring in Oregon are the cherry blossoms.
Every year when I notice the very first budding flowers begin to blossom, I am filled with a new found hope of sunny days and warmer weather ahead.
The cherry blossoms have such a small blooming window.
The pretty pink blossoms quickly turn green shortly after a couple weeks from the first blossom. Or a gusty rainy wind storm comes through and blows the pretty pink petals all over the place.

Committing a weekend to see the cherry blossoms at the first sight of them has been on my radar for quite sometime. But after having a new baby, it fell to the way side for some time.
My little one is now 3 years young and we finally managed to make it out to see the blossoms. On a sunny day, non the less!
I will surely plan better for next year, but getting to walk around the trees on a sunny day felt so refreshing and dreamy. Especially after a cold and dreary winter.
I love how the flower petals grace the ground all around making a romantic scene of pink fluffy petals.
My kids loved playing in the fallen petals, picking them up in piles, then throwing them into the air and making it “snow”
I felt like I was in a snow globe of cherry blossoms.

We visited the cherry blossoms at the Oregon state capitol, in Salem Oregon.
Be sure to plan in advance your flower viewing calendar, as the blossoms come and go so quickly. You won’t want to miss them!
When to Go to Catch Cherry Blossom Blossoms at Their Peak
Cherry blossoms are known for being fleeting and short lived. One moment they’re in full bloom, and the next, a spring wind has swept them away.
In Salem, peak bloom typically falls between late March and early April, although it can shift depending on the weather.
