Coquette Picnic | A Romantic Picnic Setup For Two

Spring is around the corner and what better way to celebrate the warming season than with a romantic coquette style picnic for two!

Setting up a picnic is a sweet way to spend the day indulging and relaxing with someone special, or even friends!

Planning a picnic can be such a fun activity! There are a few steps involved, and below is your ultimate picnic checklist! 

1. Pick the Perfect Spot:

There are so many amazing places you can throw a picnic at. Location is everything when planning a picnic.

You can throw a picnic at dreamy places like A flower-filled garden, a shaded park, a beautiful beach, or even your very own backyard. 

This picnic shown was throw in my own backyard. I live in the woods and my backyard is my heaven and sunset escape.

Throwing a picnic in your own backyard is actually super convenient.

It can also be easier to bring everything in and out and if you forget something. You can easily just run inside and grab it. 

However, there are several good reasons for packing a picnic and creating a magical experience at beautiful locations.

One of my favorite locations to throw  picnics at is the beach or at a quiet and shady park so the kids can play. 

For a romantic timing go for Golden hour (sunrise or sunset) adds a magical glow and is picture perfect. 

2. Set the Picnic Aesthetic 

• Blanket or quilt: I love to use a pastel floral blanket or a floral vintage style quilt. This will set the theme effortlessly. I used the LoveShackFancy throw for this picnic in cabbage patch. But anything thats floral will work. 
• Pillows: This is totally optional but bringing a pillow or two can make the picnic cozier and more comfy
• Decor truly sets the theme for an aesthetic coquette picnic. Pack things like Fairy lights in mason jars,  a bouquet of fresh flowers and candles for romantic vibes. 

Tip: Use colors to create an aesthetic vibe. For this theme, I went with shades of pink, white and gold. The color combination can really set the tone or vibe or your picnic. 

A blue blanket and white decor can feel ethereal, while black and red can feel intimate and spicy. 

What to bring on a picnic date? 

If you are going on a picnic date, some things you can bring are a picnic blanket, a picnic basket filled with  yummy foods and a few cutlery essentials. You can bring extra things like decor and activities. You can also bring a bluetooth music box to listen to your favorite songs. 

• Picnic Basket: A classic wicker basket is so dreamy 
• Tableware: Plates, gold or rose-gold cutlery, napkins, and stemmed glasses
• Activities such as a favorite book, journal, card games or a camera to take pictures

You can make a picnic extra romantic by lighting some candles or fairy lights, bring along a mini bluetooth speaker to play music and play couple card games that help you get to know each other better. 

Pack foods that represent love, like chocolates, strawberries, red wine, heart shaped foods, cherries and pasta for example. 

Dress up for a picnic & wear something pretty 

A picnic is the perfect excuse to wear a beautiful flowy dress or a flirty cami top and shorts. For a coquette aesthetic outfit, think lots of lace details, breezy silhouette, dainty details like ribbons, bows and roses.
