Blue Ocean Smoothie Bowl Recipe
If you are in search of a refreshing and fruitful breakfast, this Blue Ocean Smoothie Bowl will surely do the trick! It's refreshing, light and hydrating!
My favorite way to start the day is with a smoothie! And if you love smoothies, you'll love how captivating the blue color is on this one.
This bowl is as beautiful as it is nourishing, packed with hidden veggies, tropical fruits, and a splash of ocean-blue magic thanks to blue spirulina.
My kids absolutely love smoothies and smoothie bowls. I like to sneak extra veggies into the smoothies to ensure the kids get more into their diet on a regular bases.
It's so easy to blend veggies and hide them in smoothies. For this recipe, I used frozen cauliflower. This vegetable is not even detectable in this smoothie and it adds a little bit of texture by helping to thicken up the smoothie, which is perfect for spooning it up!
The color comes from Spirulina which gives it a stunning blue ocean hue. Spirulina is a blue or green algae that is naturally nutrient dense.
It's a smoothie powder I love to keep on hand and use more often in the winter time or back to school time for the kids since it has immune boosting properties.
I also wanted to mention that there are two Spirulina colors. A blue and a green. If you want a true blue, make sure to order BLUE Spirulina and not blue-green or green Spirulina.
