Avocado Matcha Smoothie Recipe in Emerald Green
This is the lean, mean, green smoothie machine, and trust me, on those chaotic mornings when I need caffeine and breakfast all in one (aka every morning), you’ll catch me blending up this Avocado Matcha Smoothie faster than you can say “where’s my coffee?”
I love this recipe because it's so quick and easy to make. It's hydrating, brilliantly emerald green and has just the right amount of caffeine to get my day started on the right track.
This smoothie is also rich, creamy and so satisfying! I Keep Matcha on hand and regularly freeze avocados and overripe bananas just to make this.
Never throw away overripe bananas or avocados that are imperfect. Instead, simply prep them for smoothies!
Freeze avocado and banana ahead of time
- Slice the fruit into small chunks.
- Arrange the pieces on a parchment lined tray.
- Cover the tray and freeze overnight.
- Once frozen, transfer the fruit into zip lock freezer bags, squeezing out excess air.
I love to use frozen fruit for this recipe over fresh fruit because it gives the smoothie an added creamy texture. You won't need to use any ice or heavy creams to get that velvety consistency.
